Daniel Shin, MD was raised on the East Coast by first generation immigrants who came to America in search of the American Dream. During his formative years, Daniel was taught the importance of education, hard work, and integrity.
After graduation as valedictorian of his public high school, Daniel attended Yale University where he majored in Philosophy. Next, he continued pre-medical studies at the University of Pennsylvania before entering medical school at the University of Pittsburgh.
In medical school, Dr. Shin served as president of his class for all four years and decided to specialize in urology.
Dr. Shin's next stop was Los Angeles for residency training in urologic surgery at the University of Southern California. At the LAC+USC Medical Center, he received rigorous training in all aspects of urology, including: voiding dysfunction, kidney stone disease, erectile dysfunction, kidney cancer, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, testicular and penile cancer. He is trained in both open and laparoscopic surgical techniques.
After graduating residency training, Dr. Shin joined the Kaiser Permanente organization. In the Orange County, CA branch, Dr. Shin faithfully served the community's medical needs. After four years, he was promoted to chief of service.
In 2022, Dr. Shin decided to move out of state to allow his wife to pursue a career advancement.
The move also allowed Dr. Shin to change his practice to locum tenens, which allows him to bring his urologic expertise to the parts of the country that need it the most.
Dr. Shin writes and maintains The Darwinian Doctor blog
and is the founder of Cereus Real Estate, who's mission is to bring physician and other professionals closer to financial freedom through the power of real estate investing.
